This solid black walnut tri-level shelf unit has a trick up its sleeve. Each shelf can be moved up to 12” side to side with no tools! The shelves fit into snug grooves in the vertical board and are held in place with strong neodymium magnets. This allows you to move the shelves horizontally to line them up straight, diagonally, or stagger them in any way you choose. It’s a perfect setup for a plant shelf, knick-knack shelf, or home décor shelf. It’s also extremely easy to mount since all you need to do is fix the vertical piece to the wall using two screws. Then just snap the three shelves into place. They are remarkably strong and can support a substantial amount of weight since the magnets aren’t the only thing holding each shelf up. The strength of the shelves comes from the fact that they are embedded a full ½” deep into the vertical piece with virtually no wiggle space. The magnets simply hold the shelves tight to the back, while the groove in the solid black walnut is what really provides the strength. Each shelf has a 12” steel bar permanently embedded in the back to give the magnets something to hold on to.
*Note: we recommend leaving at least 3” protruding from the side when shifting the shelves since the steel bar does span the entire 18” of the back of the shelf. It is located across the center 12” of the shelf.
The vertical piece and all three shelves are made with solid black walnut which is a full ¾” thick. This is NOT soft pine stained to look like walnut or a thin walnut veneer over fake wood. All pieces have been finished with a beautiful hand-rubbed shellac finish to bring out the natural beauty of the wood and to increase durability. The back of the vertical piece and the backs of the shelves have not been finished.

• Spacing Between Each Shelf: approximately 6 7/8”
The back vertical piece that gets mounted on the wall has two pre-drilled holes for easy wall mounting. The mounting screws are completely hidden behind the shelves – there is one behind the top shelf and one more behind the bottom shelf. Two #8 star-drive screws and two drywall anchors are included with the order. If you are not mounting into wall studs or a solid surface you MUST use drywall anchors.
