This floating shelf is a piece of art in itself with its hardwood birch box tied together by a beautiful sliding front panel.  The front panel has been crafted using multiple hardwood strips from a variety of different wood species to include black walnut, oak, hard maple, red cedar, and exotic zebrawood.  The front wood panel slides out easily to reveal a hidden compartment.  The shelf hangs on the wall with no visible fasteners by using vertical keyhole slots.   The keyhole slots are just barely over 16” apart and you should still be able to use screws into standard wall stud spacing. The listing includes screws and drywall anchors.  The drywall anchors are a must if not installing into wall studs or a solid mounting surface.

It makes for the perfect plant shelf, knick-knack shelf, or hidden bar shelf.  You can hide away some things inside while displaying others on the top.

Shelf dimensions are as follows:

•        Outside Width: 17”

•        Outside Height: 6”

•        Outside Depth: 5”

•        Compartment Area (behind sliding door): 15 ½” W x 4 ½” T x 4” D

The shelf has been finished inside and out with a durable shellac finish to enhance the natural beauty of the wood.  The back of the shelf facing the wall is not finished.

* This is a one-of-a-kind unit.  All pictures are from the actual shelf you will be receiving.  Listing is for the shelf, (2) drywall anchors, and (2) mounting screws only – props used in the listing pictures are not included.
